Hollywood Alley Acoustic & Fundraiser

This weekend was acoustical magic!  We had an excellent time playing our acoustic set at Hollywood Alley Friday night.  Matt worked the sound super awesome (thanks, Matt!) and Zane kept my friends happy (Thanks, Zane!).  It was a pleasure to share the stage with Sir Shane Hunt!  I met Shane a while ago at a show at the Compound Grill.  We will be sharing the stage again soon in July!  We didn't get to hear them, but we know Cecile Hortensia, the Upper Strata, and Michael Brandon Vela all rocked Hollywood Alley too!

Saturday night Andy and I rocked the Silent Auction Fundraiser for the Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital.  What a beautiful event!!  We were tucked in a corner (our view in first photo) as there were several entertainment acts around the estate and in the courtyard (second photo).  We hope a lot of money was raised!  Mad shout out to Cyndie Turtoro and Surreal SistersSweet photos by Andy Borunda himself!

Hollywood Alley Unplugged May 11

We will see you Friday night!!!

Best fill-in drummer ever

Extra special thanks to Ms. Cyd Manning for helping us out at the Pride Festival this year!  She may be at a few more as we bring in new members.  Also big thanks too to Ms. Judy Brown and Mr. Marco Lopez for their fine, fine photos from the event.

May at the Bean

One of our favorite places to play...

Acoustic shows

Have you noticed the plethora of acoustic shows lately?  You just never know what shows will come down the pike!  And I really like these shows to be honest.  They have a different feel then the full band shows and my hearing is way less affected!   Andy still shreds on the guitar like nobody’s business that is for sure, no effects there.  We have relinquished our corner spot at the SunDust Gallery.  I have played there for more than two years and it felt like a good time to move the music on.  Maybe we’ll be a surprise there some Second Friday, you’ll have to stay posted.  As for the band, we are having a member line-up change again and will soon announce our new players, another factor in the quantity of acoustic duo show lately.  It’s all good, we wish everybody the best and we are excited to start working with our new members.  Good things just take time...

One very cool PRIDE photo

Your weekend plans in a neat little package!

Ms. Cyd Manning joining the Honey Shakers!

It's official, Ms. Cyd Manning is joining the Honey Shakers!!  Well, for one show only, but we'll take it!!!  Cyd will be joining us at the year's Phoenix Pride Festival.  Last year we held back her massive percussion skill to a single snare drum, so this year we are going to let her rock a full kit!  We have an excellent time slot, 7 pm, right before Chely Wright takes the main stage.  So come out and support the LGBT community and check us out too!!  We'd love to see you!!
