Acoustic shows

Have you noticed the plethora of acoustic shows lately?  You just never know what shows will come down the pike!  And I really like these shows to be honest.  They have a different feel then the full band shows and my hearing is way less affected!   Andy still shreds on the guitar like nobody’s business that is for sure, no effects there.  We have relinquished our corner spot at the SunDust Gallery.  I have played there for more than two years and it felt like a good time to move the music on.  Maybe we’ll be a surprise there some Second Friday, you’ll have to stay posted.  As for the band, we are having a member line-up change again and will soon announce our new players, another factor in the quantity of acoustic duo show lately.  It’s all good, we wish everybody the best and we are excited to start working with our new members.  Good things just take time...

Your weekend plans in a neat little package!

Ms. Cyd Manning joining the Honey Shakers!

It's official, Ms. Cyd Manning is joining the Honey Shakers!!  Well, for one show only, but we'll take it!!!  Cyd will be joining us at the year's Phoenix Pride Festival.  Last year we held back her massive percussion skill to a single snare drum, so this year we are going to let her rock a full kit!  We have an excellent time slot, 7 pm, right before Chely Wright takes the main stage.  So come out and support the LGBT community and check us out too!!  We'd love to see you!!

Rockin' the Yucca Tap Room, sort of

Last night, Andy, Mike and I trekked to the Yucca Tap Room to play a few acoustic tunes at their open mic, hosted by Jason Messer.  Like at the Sail Inn, we hope to take the Yucca Tap Room stage soon as a full band.  Funny though we should have been on the main stage last night, but instead we were set up over at the smaller side of the bar in a dark corner near foosball table...BUT we rocked as awesome as any acoustic trio could and folks seem to enjoy our tunes!   There was a band going on after us that we didn't get to check out, but we'd really appreciated their enthusiasm for us, so thanks, guys!  And thanks, Jason, for rocking awesome sound!  On the main stage was a band on their way back from SXSW...we meet again, SXSW!  I didn’t catch their name, but they sounded pretty great.  We have one or two more open mics planned to check out venues for the band...maybe I’ll share the next one so we can meet up?  Have a happy Tuesday!

Arizona Dragon Festival show just added

Thanks to our friends, the O'Henry band, we were selected to play at the Arizona Dragon Boat Festival on Sunday, April 1 at 3 pm.  For our fans who can't make it out to the late-night, over 21+ clubs, this is a great chance for you to check out Carol Pacey and the Honey Shakers LIVE!  Bring the kids and some cash (the event is free with plenty of food and drinks to purchase) and we'll see you soon!  Proceeds from the weekend event benefit the Special Olympics Arizona.
