WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?
Hard Rock Rising 2012 is THE global battle of the bands, spanning the world in search of music's next big talent. Participating Hard Rock Cafes worldwide will host local battles to find a band that can represent their city in a global competition. 86 cities will compete but only one will win. The band that ultimately wins will be awarded the opportunity of a lifetime: a trip to London to perform in Hyde Park and open Hard Rock Calling 2012!
Hard Rock Calling has quickly become one of Europe's most exciting music festivals. Over the past 5 years, headliners such as Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, The Who, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, The Police, The Killers, Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks have rocked Hyde Park. And with thousands of fans and top headliners, Hard Rock Calling 2012 is the chance of a lifetime for emerging bands to gain exposure and showcase their talent in front of today's most iconic artists. Local Battle Events
Once local voting is complete on Feb 6, each participating cafe will invite the top 9 bands to perform at live battle events hosted between February 13 - April 1. Only those bands that received the most votes will be chosen to participate in the live battles. During the live battle, bands will perform for fans and judges, who will choose a winner to move on to the global competition and represent their city to compete for the grand prize. The winning band in each city will receive some pretty cool stuff: $500 (equivalent in local currency), a $500 Hard Rock Cafe Gift Certificate and a 1 year subscription to the top tier ReverbNation Deluxe Service Package to aid in promoting participation in Hard Rock Rising 2012.
Global Competition
The winning band from each city will move on to compete globally. 86 will compete via online judging to determine the top 10 bands. Votes will only be accepted from April 7 - 22, so use your time wisely to promote and gain votes. Once again, fans can download tracks for free on Hard Rock Cafe Facebook pages but during this phase, a fan can only vote for one band. After the first download/vote, they can continue to download free tracks but they will not count as votes. Fans will be required to "like" a Hard Rock Facebook page to participate but there is no registration or fee required. Once the top 10 have been determined by voting they will be reviewed by a panel of industry experts. On May 2, one will be crowned the Hard Rock Rising grand prize winner and announced to the world.
