Adios, 2013!

Carol Pacey & the Honey Shakers was not quite as busy as Frank Turner this year, fact, http://frank-turner.com/2013/12/09/heading-home/, but we had a heck of a year! Most of our hopes for 2013 are marked off in the “accomplished” column! In one form or another, we played new Arizona towns, Cottonwood, Casa Grande, Prescott, Kingman, Flagstaff and Bisbee, and crisscrossed the valley for just under 100 shows for about 4,000 miles traveled!!!! We played new charity events, new local venues and new festivals. We played with new local show mates this year -- Watch for Rocks, Manic Monkeys, Sister Lip, the Breakup Society, Narc Morman, Dead Foxxes, Truckers on Speed, 13 to the Gallows, Jamie Waldron Trio, the Andys, Tora, Joanna Joy, Green Line Operator, Darkness Dear Boy, the Pleasure Victims, Mr. Eastwood, the Hardways, Squiddog, Psycho Square Dance, Instant Hobo, Tramps & Thieves, Kingfathand, Exploding Oranges, ¡Compañeros!, Mill’s End, Brotherhood of Blues featuring Sarah Styles, Horizon I, Black Carl, Hunter Johnson, and Mr. Lee Perreira. We shared the stage with touring acts, A House for Lions and Ryan Dishen from California, and Rosie & the Ramblers from Texas.  After one of our shows, we even rescued a kitten and he's now in an awesome forever home!!!

We had at least one person from 43 states on our website with more than 1,300 total visitors; if you know somebody in Montana, North Dakota, Kansas, West Virginia, South Carolina, Delaware or Vermont, let them know it’s okay to check us out, we don’t bite!. On YouTube, we had more than 3,000 views of our videos!!! I didn’t keep track of the number of folks rocked at our live shows, but I dare say it was in the thousands!!! New friends and fans jumped on our wagon and joined our musical adventure with more than a hundred new “likes” on our FB band page, not to mention a ton of new FB friends! And so many picked up fan t-shirts and tunes…my mind is still blown that we actually had to reorder tees!!!! THANK YOU, ALL!

We picked up an accomplished bass player and all around nice guy with the addition of Dante Fiorenza. We created 10 rocking tunes including Fool, Dust Devil Spin, Everybody Sing, Don Julio, Take Your Bad News and Go Away, Wild Eyed Girl, White Glove, Dangerous Game and Best Friends. We recorded a single, “Fool,” and a full length album which will come out in 2014!!!! We had our FIRST BAND INTERVIEW with Song River for Vents Magazine!!! I was included in a “ladies who rock the valley” photo shoot and played alongside Nolan McKelvey up in the FLG, and Andy and I were photographed by Maria Fossler! Our band was included in a variety of online publications, and Tony Ziemba, Song River and Mindy DeLuca photographed the heck out of us! Winning!!!!!

What’s in store for 2014? Our first full-length album WILL BE released. That’s mind-blowing all by itself!!! We already have more than a dozen shows lined up for next year including ones with new show mates, new festivals and new local venues!!!!

Thank you to our family and friends for supporting us this year and thank you for your patience with our practice, show and studio schedules! Thank you to our fans for singing and dancing with us and “sharing” or “liking” something about the band almost every day! Thank you to everybody for your well wishes for our continued success!!! We wish you all the same in chasing your dreams too!!!

Happy holidays and happy New Year, and we’ll see YOU in 2014!!!
